Today I realized that I can sometimes get carried away by the creative process and lose sight of the original purpose.
For example, I am updating my portfolio so I can showcase my work and use it to find a job. But because I genuinely enjoy designing, building, and improving things, I can spend too much time trying to make it better instead of finishing it.
I don't think the creative process is a bad thing. It is actually one of the things I enjoy most about what I do. The problem is when I forget what the work is supposed to accomplish.
I want to keep enjoying the process while also knowing when something is good enough to serve its purpose. Creativity should help me move forward, not keep me from finishing.
